Seventy-Ninth Entry
Harry and I have been having serious discussions for a long time. We talk too much about things we don't have any say over.

We worry about Rev, mostly. Trinity is having trouble in school, both behaviorally and intellectually. She can't seem to stick with her studies and she doesn't get along well with her classmates. My children are her only true friends. She comes home crying usually once a week and doesn't like to talk about how she is feeling. Lately, Rev's been bringing her over here and I set her on the floor in the magic room and give her markers and paper. I tell her, write or draw how you feel and sometimes she responds and sometimes she falls asleep on the floor. Rev hasn't been getting any sleep. It's not only Trinity. He's been having problems with his job and is thinking about quitting, but has no other means of financial support. We are his family. His parents will not help him if he asks. Harry and I would give him the world if we could, but we are struggling as it is and can only offer him what we have left. He and Trinity eat with us every night now; the children are confined to the living room and the playroom while the three of us try and figure out his situation. Until everyone is more settled, however, he doesn't really have many choices.

On the bright side, though, my parents-in-law are here! If I haven't been completely blatant about my love for them, it is to their discredit. I love them with all my heart and soul. If only everyone could notice the way they look at me...without pity, without judgment. They love me purely, and they have no reason to. Reggie is so captivating. He loves the children and treats Trinity like his own grandchild. Ouisie cooks and brings gifts and is so kind to everyone. She sees that Harry and I are struggling, but she only acknowledges it by slipping money into my purse when I'm not looking, or by cleaning up the whole house while I'm taking the boys to play sports. (Chris and Tuck have both started football and Chris plays baseball, too. It's so exciting because now they have sports friends and they love to talk about athletics to anyone who will listen.) The other day, Edward came to visit while I was not at the house. When I walked in he and Harry were watching television with the children and Ouisie was making them snacks and laughing at Edward's stories. I couldn't believe how well everyone got on. As if we were normal. But normal is never best, I suppose. Louise and Reggie will stay until next weekend and will be moving here hopefully around next Christmas. Meanwhile, the children are so happy to have their grandparents around. I wish they could just stay forever. My love to them again!

Harry is reading over my shoulder so I better stop this entry here. This is my story, I say, but he insists on reading as I type. We might adopt is what he thinks I should write. But we have no money so don't anyone get their hopes up.

Best wishes.
